As I mentioned in my previous post, our toughest challenge to date was deciding upon a name.
In truth it felt like I was banging my head against a brick wall as friends or family rejected ideas or the domain name had already gone. We eventually decided on Tao Recruitment, more out of frustration and the need to push on with our website and all the other jobs that can’t be complete until you agree on a name. Over the last couple of weeks feedback from customers and our marketing adviser led us to the decision that Tao wasn’t right and we needed to take action. As one person said, you need to live with this name on your journey and if it’s not right, it is best to change it at the start of the journey and not mid-way through.
Whilst the prospect of going back to the drawing board wasn’t appealing we knew we needed to listen to our customers and it was the right thing to do. So armed with plenty of coffee and our marketing advisors, we sat down with the remit that we couldn’t leave the room until we agreed the new name. Shortly after, Distinct Recruitment was born. By its very definition, it sums up what we are looking to achieve, recognisably different in nature from something else of a similar type.
Ultimately, I’ve always felt it’s what's behind the name that defines the brand but it certainly helps that we have a name that we are all happy with. The hard work continues now working with our website partners, watch this space...
