All Accountants are the same. Well, no. Not quite.
I was cursing the Sat Nav. It has brought me to the wrong place. There’s no way this is a firm of Accountants, I thought, peering through the reception doors.
I was wrong.
These guys are on a mission to take everything you thought you knew about accountants and flip it on its head.
This was my first visit to the firm that’s been hailed “The Rebels of Accountancy”. Yes, there is a sleep pod, video games and table football. But this is much more than a ping pong table and a few bean bags. They’ve created an amazing space. Bright colours that energise, inspire and motivate. They don’t do grey.
There’s an underlying culture that has helped them engage and retain their people. They know that by getting this culture right, everything else will fall magically into place.
Everything is done for a reason.
The variety of spaces cater to different working styles – there’s sure to be something that works for you.
You’ll have break out spaces when you need a bit of quiet time and fantastic group spaces, for the collaborative work that really makes CP tick.
You’ll have the 9-5 shackles removed. You’ll be trusted to work wherever, whenever and however suits you.
They ask one thing of you in return – produce incredible work.
So, what are the opportunities for you?
This is your chance to join Kate in the Audit Department who describes it as:
“A fun and infectious place to work and a place where I’ve found the freedom to be me and I don’t have to try to be somebody else”
There are opportunities at all levels within the department from the PQ up to Manager level. You’ll be providing exceptional customer service and building effective working relationships with a range of clients.
You’ll have a voice. This is summed up eloquently by Cat, one of the Audit Partners:
“Our culture means I have the courage to give my opinion and the knowledge people are listening. The ability to be vulnerable about where I need support”
Yes, the environment is great but there’s much more to it. These guys are the fastest growing firm of accountants in the UK and were recently voted British Accountancy’s Most Innovative firm of the year.
This means you’ll have loads of opportunity to develop and flourish. The L&D programme (think the opposite of the stuffy, classroom style) will offer you a huge range of ways to get involved, open your eyes to bright new ideas and become a better version of yourself. Basically, you’ll be trained well so you’re confident enough to leave but you’ll be treated so well that you won’t want to.
You’ll be challenged and will do things you never imagined possible in the Profession, which is summed up perfectly by Orianne in the People team:
“This firm is like a volcano. Every now and then we erupt – we change the norm, challenge the standard and shake things up”
You’ll be well looked after
Because if you’re happy, engaged and motivated, then an irresistible client experience will follow.
You’ll get a competitive salary, open holiday, flexible working and a 7pm – 7am email curfew, alongside a bucket load of other great things that have resulted in their 8th place in the Sunday Times Best Companies to work for (as well as top accountancy firm to work for)
A bit about you
You won’t be an accountant who has swallowed a few accountancy textbooks.
You’ll be approachable, bright and inquisitive. You’re probably looking to create your dent in the world. You’re looking to join a firm where you’ll be encouraged to try new things.
You might be a frustrated accountant within the Big 4, looking for something different. Looking to join a place where you won’t be a small cog in a huge machine.
Or you could be working for a smaller firm, frustrated at the lack of development and progression opportunities. You’ll get both here.
If this sounds interesting, just apply to this role and I'll be in touch.
