Distinct Recruitment are working with an influential Nottinghamshire based Public Sector organisation with a mission to make a better future for people and the environment .

You will play a key part in their modern, resilient and 24/7 environmental incident and emergency response organisation, using first-class incident preparation, readiness, response and recovery.

You will help improve access to and engagement with key audiences to raise awareness of various environmental issues and to support operations teams and bring to life why they do what they do as an organisation through the delivery of relevant projects and campaigns. You will also help with horizon scanning and issues management, working closely with the Executive Leadership Team and other parts of the business.

You will engage effectively with wide-ranging audiences through a variety of channels including social media and web content, engagement events and activities, information, webinars and media handling (reactive and proactive at local, national and trade levels).

You will use your skills, insight and evaluation to raise standards in your work and that of the wider team, always ensuring you deliver a great service and providing value for money. You will be someone who always places the organisation's mission, purpose and values at the heart of everything you do.

This job would be ideal for candidates with experience managing communications and engagement activities in a complex organisation and particularly in the area of crisis communications. Experience managing or supervising staff would also be beneficial because you will be managing relationships with colleagues across departments to deliver effective campaigns.

Finally, you will be someone who is comfortable copywriting for different target audiences including writing articles for publication and events/webinar management would also be highly advantageous.
