A leading UK retailer are looking for a Head of Buying to join their leadership team.
The business has continued to grow throughout the pandemic, against a backdrop of a 25% turnover increase the prior year.
They’re definitely bucking the high street retail trend by offering a product portfolio which customers have a high affinity to whilst offering a true service led experience, which has led to them gaining market share.
As their Head of Buying, you’ll be playing a key role in strengthening the business by delivering the best range of products for their customers, whilst maximising profit and market share.
You’ll be inheriting a team of Category Managers and will use your experience to coach and develop them, being hands on to show how best to manage categories.
At the same time, you’ll be working on developing the buying strategy for the business, creating long-term partnerships with external brand suppliers, and identifying new supplier opportunities.
It’s a perfect role if you enjoy the balance between leadership, strategy development, and being hands on with category management.
A background in luxury retail, or of managing categories with a high customer loyalty is essential. Experience of developing and implementing buying systems and processes is also key.
The business is Midlands based; you’ll need to be in the office 2-3 days per week to provide leadership and development to your team. Outside of this, you can be based at home.
