A great opportunity has arisen to be part of a small HR team in a lovely organisation. Joining the company in a 12-15 month FTC HR Assistant role, you'll be supporting the HR Manager by driving and shaping the HR agenda.

This is a brilliant opportunity for someone who wants to broaden and develop their career in HR and shape their own role. Reporting into the HR Manager; you will be carrying out a hands-on operational HR role based in Nottinghamshire.

The role is an integral part of the HR team. Within this role, you will have great visibility across the company and will be expected to understand the needs of the managers and employees to help the business deliver on its strategy and aims.

What you’ll be doing

  • Work closely with HR Manager to define suitable people plans and initiatives
  • To liaise with managers, directors and stakeholders to identify training needs across the organisation
  • Ownership of HR operational duties such as disciplinary procedures, sickness and absence management, employee relation issues, and coaching and advising line managers
  • Review and deliver successful on boarding and induction of new starters
  • Build strong relationships with management teams and the HR Manager, and consult with key stakeholders to identify business requirements
  • Coach and support Line Managers to ensure they can deal with a wide range of employment issues e.g. performance and absence issues
  • Assist with internal and external communications
  • Analyse and report on HR data
  • Managing HR Project work
  • End to end recruitment cycle

What you’ll need to be

  • Minimum of two years HR Generalist experience working within a fast-paced environment
  • Experience should include focus on employee relations, recruitment, performance management, learning & development, reward and talent/team development
  • Excellent current knowledge of law and HR policy
  • CIPD qualification or equivalent desirable
  • Experience of managing ER issues and change management
  • Strong commercial focus with good business acumen
  • Strong communication and influencing skills
  • Solid organisational skills; ability to prioritise, plan and deliver to meet and exceed business requirements
  • Excellent written and spoken communication skills
  • Self-motivated with excellent attention to detail
