So – You love the reward of doing a great job but you don’t like that you have to sacrifice your work/life balance in the process? Has Covid made you reassess your priorities and actually, seeing your family more often is now something you want to keep doing?
This company have outsourced all of their IT services to a UK based Service Provider. As the IT Commercial Business Partner your job will be to ensure that their Service Provider is actually doing all the things they are contracted to. And if they’re not, you’ll either need to re-negotiate the terms or hold them to account.
The success of this contract is key to the success of the business so oftentimes you’ll be in the spotlight. You’ll be held fully accountable for this £30m contract - the buck stops with you so to speak - so you’ll need to be knowledgeable of the inner-workings of companies like Atos, Accenture, HP, Capita…..Actually, if you’re currently working for an IT Service Provider and want to experience what it’s like on the other side of the table, this role would be ideal for you.
Your internal stakeholders, your customer in this case, are the CIO and the Director of Business Transformation, so a large part of your role will be understanding exactly what they expect from the vendor, and ensuring it’s being achieved. You’ll have a lot of facetime with them, so you’ll need to have a certain level of gravitas to ensure they fully buy into you and trust you to get the job done.
You won’t be alone in this; you’ll be part of a 2 person team. Your colleague will be responsible for the KPIs and the nuts and bolts of the contract, freeing you up to get into the detail, fully understand the commercials and the legals, and ensure that this contract is being delivered in-line with what has been agreed.
So where are they at the moment? It’s been approx. 18 months since this relationship was forged and there’s an awful lot of work left to do. If you’re up for a challenge & are ready to get your sleeves rolled up, then this is certainly the role for you.
So what are this company like to work for? This is probably the best part – they’re unlike any company I’ve ever worked with. Even before Covid-19 they promoted and utilised flexible working. They believe in treating their employees as adults – there are no core hours, no set start & finish times… it’s a 37.5 hour working week and as long as you get the job done, you can work the hours that suit you.
At the moment, everyone across the business is home based, and once this pandemic is out of the way this role will be 2 days a week in the office and the rest is up to you. They have an office in Nottingham and one in Central London so as long as you’re happy commuting to one of those offices a couple of times a week and like the sound of this challenge, then hit apply.
