IT Field Support Engineer (East Midlands)

Are you an experienced 2nd/3rd line support engineer looking for that next step in your career? Or maybe you’re a field engineer looking for a company where you will feel valued and can be left to work at your own pace?

Working for a professional services business, you will be in a brand new IT Field Support Engineer role covering the East Midlands. You will be covering their sites in Leicester, Derby, Nottingham and Birmingham, working remotely on a Friday.

The main focus of the role will be to provide 2nd/3rd line support across multiple sites, focusing on face-to-face support with the users' deskside. You’ll also be involved in infrastructure and meeting room support to resolve technical issues that cannot be fixed remotely. As part of the day-to-day, you’ll be taking delivery of new starter kit, undertaking office checks and floor walking, dealing with the servers on site and taking a lead in office moves.

From a tech perspective, you will need to be a bit of an all-rounder and have experience in the following:

  • Hardware break/fix including mobiles, laptops, desktops & peripherals
  • Microsoft Windows 10
  • Microsoft Office 365
  • Meeting room conferencing equipment
  • Active Directory

As a person, you will need to be confident in managing your own time due to the standalone nature of the role. Being a natural people person will help as you will be interacting with hundreds of different people throughout your week. You must be ambitious and driven to achieve the best end results.

The company

As a professional services business, they are a top 50, industry organisation in the UK. They are a genuinely great place to work, I’m not just saying this, the proof is in the pudding! They have been ranked in the Sunday Times “Top 100 Best Companies to Work For”– they really do look after their staff. They are also a silver standard accredited Investor in People Company, which means they are recognised for continuous efforts to improve workplace engagement and personal growth.

As well as a highly competitive salary and 25 days holiday plus the option to buy or sell more, the benefits include a generous pension scheme, annual bonus’ and salary reviews, qualification support, wellbeing days, retailer discounts and several freebies throughout the year including flu jabs, food vouchers – sometimes it’s the little things!
