IT Manager | Leicester | 35,000 - £40,000 per annum
You might already be an IT Manager within a small business but finding there is no challenge left in your role, or maybe you’re a systems administrator or 2nd/3rd liner who is ready to take that next step in their career & own the entire IT agenda for a small business.
IT Managers come in all shapes and sizes – to be successful in this IT Manager role you’ll need to be a hands-on techie who is able to see the big picture, taking responsibility for the strategy & direction of IT.
This is an interesting organisation who grow & shrink as they acquire & sell different businesses in their group, which is currently sitting around 50-60 users across the UK. Following the recent sale of 2 businesses within the group they have a pot of money which they are looking to invest back into the business and would like to spend a fair bit of it on IT.
This is a great time for them to be spending money in IT – they’re looking to upgrade their systems & processes to give them a strong IT foundation that is able to grow with them, putting them in a great position once they do acquire and develop new business units.
The company are based in Leicester but have a relaxed & mature approach to home working – just be where you need to be to get the job done. You’ll need to be in the office on a Thursday each week for the leadership meeting but other than that it’s up to you.
About the role
This is a diverse business where change is constant, so they need an IT Manager who can roll with the punches so to speak – someone who is comfortable sitting within the leadership team discussing budgets one minute, and then fixing a laptop the next. It’s a truly varied role involving the hands-on support aspect of IT, line management of an IT apprentice and plenty of project work. You’ll be responsible for the IT strategy for the business & be dealing with 3rd party suppliers… so you certainly aren’t going to get bored. And because change is constant the role isn’t likely to stagnate – there’s plenty of things to keep you going for many, many years here.
