A recognisable client based in Bedford are looking to recruit a Payroll Specialist on an permanent basis This is a hybrid position working 1-2 days per week in the office and 3-4 days remotely. Therefore, you must be happy to commute to the office near Kempston where required.
Reporting to the Payroll Manager you will join a payroll team of 2 responsible for the accurate and timely delivery of the companies multiple monthly UK payrolls totalling over 1000 employees.
Duties include but are not limited to:
- Employee query management and resolution
- Payroll data input
- Manging the starter and leaver process
- Issuing contracts of employment and general administration
- Calculating and processing legislative payments including SMP, SSP and SPP
- Preparing all payroll data for submission to outsourced provider at month end
- Acting as a key point of contact for all payroll queries
In order to be considered for this role you must be able to demonstrate previous experience working within a busy payroll department. Expert knowledge is not essential, but you should have a basic understanding of UK PAYE legislation, including tax, national insurance and statutory deductions such and sick pay and maternity pay.

Salary and Benefits
The organisation are offering a salary of up to £30,000 per annum for the successful Payroll Specialist. You will also receive discretionary bonus, pension, healthcare, flexible and hybrid working as well as a clear development plan.
