Are you an experienced Product Marketing Manager ideally with a background in SaaS or telecoms? Then this could be a fantastic opportunity for you to join an East Midlands based business offering hybrid/flexible working.
As a Product Marketing Manager you will be responsible for the commercial performance of your product set. Working closely with your 'work twin' Product Manager, you will be an absolute expert on your market, your competition, and your customer needs. From this insight, you will create and land messaging to position your product in the market. Your overarching KPI is the delivery of your product's business plan including acting as the voice of the customer for input into the roadmap.
You will get to know your competitors like the back of your hand to understand what they do today and what they plan to do in the future. You will also know the buyers better than they know themselves, including how they make their buying decisions so there will be no guesswork. You will also back up strategic insights with market evidence and then use that knowledge to drive the development of positioning and messaging that resonates with buyers and empowers sales channels to be successful.
The Product Marketing Manager will collaborate with the broader marketing team to develop innovative programs that drive demand. An attention to detail and eye for quality are critical to your success, along with an ability to grasp and present the product's value proposition in a way that resonates and clearly and articulates how products solve buyers' problems. You will be someone who is obsessed with tracking performance and have the data to prove what's working and what isn't.
As the product super salesperson, you will spend a large amount of time working with sales colleagues on building, refining, and executing sales plays which are tightly integrated with the marketing activity. Time spent roaming the salesfloor, providing product coaching and receiving immediate customer feedback will be vital if you are to be successful in this role.
Ideally, we are looking for candidates with experience in product marketing who have operated in a market-facing role (e.g. delivering presentations to customers and prospects, conducting competitor analysis and market research).
You will be numerate and comfortable with managing and reporting on both cost and revenue budgets and have exceptional ROI-tracking skills, able to prove what is -or isn't-working.
Technically, you will be proficient in productivity applications such as Microsoft Office, Project, or Basecamp and comfortable using collaboration and CRM tools such as Slack and Salesforce. Familiarity with marketing automation tools such as Hubspot, HootSuite and Google Analytics would also be highly beneficial.
Due to the nature of the role you will need to have excellent people and management skills to interact with staff, colleagues, cross-functional teams and third parties so you will be a real team player! It is also important that you have strong public speaking skills and comfortable in front of large, senior groups, and a solid writer.
