Are you experienced in purchasing / materials management and looking for a role where you have more freedom to develop move a supply chain function from tactical to strategic?

A Leicester based engineering business is looking for a Procurement Manager to join their team.

The business has the backing of a global corporate, but runs its own P&L and is standing on its own 2 feet; sales continue to be strong with 2021 delivering a 12% increase.

But with growth comes pain, which is where you come in. As their new Procurement Manager, your role can be split into 2 clear phases:

  • Stabilise the UK supply chain
  • Shift to a more strategic focus

The are some clear short-term quick wins but as the supply chain expert, you’ll be balancing order book delivery with longer term strategic improvements.

Areas you can impact include:

  • Improving inbound and outbound on time delivery
  • Developing supplier performance dashboards
  • Developing a supplier sourcing and onboarding process
  • Creating internal inventory holding policies including MOQs, min/max stock holding etc
  • Re-sourcing materials with new suppliers
  • Improving quality through more controlled supplier management

You’ll be delivering the above with the support of a small direct team, who manage end to end supply chain planning in cross-functional roles.

You’ll be empowered to make supply chain decisions for the business, and you won’t be frustrated by red tape and long sign-off processes.

About you:

Experienced in materials planning, purchasing, or end to end supply chain planning in manufacturing, you’ll be looking for a business where you’ll be seen as the procurement and supply chain expert. In return, you’ll be given the freedom to develop a supply chain function as you see fit.

Package is up to £60k base, 10% bonus, 25 days holiday + statutory, 9% matched pension contribution, private healthcare. Due to the work and supply chain development needed, you’ll be fully site based for the first 3-6 months.
