So if you haven’t already noticed Talent Acquisition is a big deal right now, never has the need for great talent in organisations been either more needed nor harder to find.
This role is leading five other recruiters enabling them to be their best and get out there to source and attract the best talent retail has to offer. Just to give it some size and scale that’s roughly 800 live vacancies across the piste including stores, specialist and management.
Probably after being an epic leader (including 1:1, end of and mid year reviews, coaching & developing) the most important skill you’ll bring to this role is the ability to manage relationships out there in the business. They need you to deliver but offer fair challenge when what is being asked just isn’t going to be found or in the timescales they expect!
Next part of your toolkit will be end to end sourcing, a wise man once said you can’t lead people where you’ve not trodden yourself (or words to that effect) and this role will be doing the do at times. Let’s face it there will be times you’ll need to use an agency too so managing those relationships becomes another important part of the job.
Hopefully I’m painting a picture of a big challenge but an exciting one, where you’ll be shaped and developed whilst doing that for others. It’s undoubtedly going to be busy but they’re really flexible about how it gets done. You’ll be given real autonomy to lead your people and sign off as you see fit as the expert in your field. You’ll have a great team around you who have a real appetite to work collaboratively.
