About the role

As Reward and Performance Manager for Central England Co-operative, you will help us to attract and retain the best talent by making sure we offer a competitive proposition that rewards our colleagues and provides everyone with the benefits they deserve. Working with the Talent team, you will play a huge role in defining our strategic approach to remuneration. 

The Society are fully embracing the new office ways of working culture, so a mixture of both office (Lichfield) and home working is on offer.


What you'll be doing

Create and lead the remuneration and benefits strategy for the organisation, ensuring it supports and enables delivery of the overall business strategy

Make recommendations to our Executive team on changes to the reward and benefits offering, based on sound knowledge of a rapidly changing external market, your knowledge and experience, research and cost/benefit analysis

Conduct external salary benchmarking on reward and benefits for new or specialist roles

Define and implement performance related pay elements

Advise on legislative changes that may impact reward and benefits, including National Minimum Wage changes

Provide insight, expertise and direction on all matters relating to reward and benefits

Lead and govern the Society's job evaluation process

Manage the operation of the Society's Defined Contribution (DC) pension scheme

Produce the Society's annual Gender Pay Gap report

Prepare papers for the Remuneration Committee and produce the annual Remuneration Committee report


About you

With the confidence to build strong working relationships with colleagues, members, suppliers and leaders, you will also manage external pension providers and ensure colleagues fully understand the impact and implications of legislative changes.

Influential and inspirational you will have a proven track record of creating contemporary reward initiatives in a fast moving commercial environment (ideally retail). You should also be passionate about reward and have a good understanding of modern policies and the clear link between reward and performance. A confident communicator you will ideally also need to be skilled at administering pension schemes and managing service providers.
