Category Manager – Indirect
£40-45k + £6k car allowance
Looking for a bit of variety to your procurement role?
An East Mids based FMCG manufacturer is looking for an Indirect Category Manager to join their team.
You’ll be focussed on providing a procurement service across 6 UK based sites, some with unique needs.
As site locations are spread across the UK, suppliers tend to be local. This means you’ll be working at pace across multiple purchasing needs to source, negotiate, and contract suppliers for often immediate needs.
There’s opportunity to shift this short-term behaviour though, and the business has an appetite for you to partner with your stakeholders to get better visibility on long-term spend needs to develop category plans. This will also unlock potential to synergise spend and bring in national suppliers that can cover multiple sites.
Spend areas include freight, warehousing, engineering, MRO, FM, and even gardening! Perfect if you prefer variety over being stuck in 1 specific category.
You’ll be a joining an experienced stable team, which is ideal if you’re looking to be surrounded by good people for the long haul.
The business also gets that you might want a fresh challenge in the future, and your Purchasing Manager won’t hold you back.
Development opportunities are encouraged, whether it’s in this role, within the business (including internationally), or sideways moves into other business areas.
So who are you?
If you’re an experienced Category Manager with some indirect experience, or looking to step up into this role, we’d love to hear from you.
FMCG sector experience is ideal, as you’ll be working on some quick turnaround procurement projects that keep sites running.
