Trainee Recruitment Consultant - Accountancy Practice
You'll be the first Trainee in our newest division.
This year you'll be recruiting in Boston (the one you pass when driving to Skeggy). But next year it could be Boston (think Red Sox, Fenway Park, the bar from Cheers). More on that later though.
It's a bit different to your standard Trainee Recruiter role.
We're not saying you'll never do any business development, but this role is heavily focussed around candidates.
You'll be recruiting Accountants into the Accountancy Profession.
Your job will be engaging with candidates and understanding what is important to them. Their motivations, their ambitions. You'll work closely with them to identify which firms would be the best fit for them. These won't always be the big, well known firms either. A large part of your role will be championing the underdog and earning your stripes by placing candidates with firms that they'd probably never heard of before they spoke to you.
On the Boston thing - you'll be cutting your teeth in the East Midlands market (not just Boston you'll be pleased to know), but our Practice Division will be the first one we take to the USA, as part of our international expansion plans (we didn't think we'd be saying that when we opened the doors 4 years ago)
What's it like working for Distinct?
Recruiters working for Distinct are judged on their outputs, not what time they stay in the office til.
But, the reality is, in your early days, you'll be working longer hours than most. We're talking 8am - 6:30pm. This will give you the best chance of getting hold of your candidates when they can talk freely. MOD Pizza is a stones throw from our Notts office though so you'll easily be able to nip out for a 5pm Pizza fix.
You'll get to learn from a brilliant group of recruiters. Over 15 of our team started their careers as trainees, just like you and everyone who was with when we set up in Jan 2016 is still with us today.
We’re an eclectic bunch (check out our company Linked In / Instagram page) and, whilst most people don’t come to work to make friends, we are privileged to class everyone we work with as a friend.
We work hard but play hard too - as well as Vegas, we’ve done London, Vald’Isere and Hvar - and there’s plenty more to come.
We’re very fortunate to have an incredible team around us and even though we’re 4 years into our journey, it still feels like we’re just getting started.
What we’re trying to say is, this is a great time to join us.
A bit about you
You don't need to have recruitment experience. You might be working in Sales. You could even be working in Accountancy and wanting a career change.
