Ben’s route into recruitment began with a long-standing interest in how organisations work and why some decisions land better than others. While studying Business Administration and Sport at Nottingham Trent University, he developed a practical understanding of business dynamics alongside a competitive, team-focused mindset that has stayed with him throughout his career.
Nearly twenty years ago, Ben entered recruitment and quickly gravitated towards the procurement and supply chain market. Long-term exposure to the function – both professionally and growing up around it – gave him a clear understanding of the pressures, trade-offs and consequences that come with procurement decisions.
Today, Ben partners with clients and candidates across procurement and supply chain roles throughout the Midlands and the North, helping organisations secure capability that stands up in complex, real-world environments.
Ben’s approach is shaped by integrity, transparency and a preference for long-term thinking over short-term wins. With ongoing pressure on costs, risk and resilience across UK organisations, he believes procurement capability matters most when it’s properly understood – not rushed.
He takes time to understand the commercial reality behind each hire and is careful about fit on both sides. For Ben, procurement and supply chain sit at the centre of how organisations function day to day, which is why he enjoys working with people who think critically, ask good questions and care about getting things right.
Procurement recruitment is most rewarding for Ben when it’s treated as a long game. Strong teams aren’t built through quick fixes – they develop through considered hiring, honest advice and a clear view of what’s needed next.
That perspective shapes how he works with both clients and candidates. He supports candidates by talking openly about career direction and development and helps businesses think beyond the immediate vacancy – considering team shape, succession and capability gaps. Internally, he’s equally open with insight, contributing through collaboration and mentoring.
Outside of work, Ben spends most of his time with his family and staying active. A firm believer in fitness and sport, he coaches his son’s rugby team and enjoys sprint training and strength work.
Beyond that, he enjoys bringing people together through events and networking and has a long-standing curiosity about learning, performance and what helps people operate at their best.
