Armed with a bachelor’s degree in International Business from Northumbria University, Jo’s recruitment career began when she registered with an agency to find temporary work after graduation. During her interview with Selena – now Talent Acquisition Partner at Distinct – Jo realised that a career in recruitment was her perfect fit.
Over the next 11 years, Jo honed her skills and knowledge, becoming an office support recruitment specialist. Today, she works alongside Selena and Rochea in our office support team, supporting clients and candidates across the Midlands. By considering skills, personality, ambitions and cultural fit, Jo ensures that excellent candidates find their ideal jobs.
Jo’s personable approach focuses on providing reassurance and support. She coaches candidates before interviews, offers thorough interview preparation and helps them build the confidence to succeed.Â

Just one career highlight to date – two of Jo’s candidates were interviewed for the same position and the client was so impressed that they created a brand-new role, in order to hire them both.Â
In her free time, Jo loves going on holidays with her family, walking her black labrador, Bass and dining out. Her passion for travel has taken her to numerous destinations around the globe, including Argentina, Australia, Bali, Bolivia, Brazil, Cambodia, Chile, Fiji, Laos, Malaysia, New Zealand, Paraguay, Peru, Thailand, Uruguay and Vietnam, with many more still to explore.
