Armed with a bachelor’s degree in International Business from Northumbria University, Jo’s recruitment career began when she registered with an agency to find temporary work after graduation. During her interview with Selena – now Talent Acquisition Partner at Distinct – Jo realised that a career in recruitment was her perfect fit.
Over the next 11 years, Jo honed her skills and knowledge, becoming an office support recruitment specialist. Today, she works alongside Laura in our internal talent team, connecting with like-minded individuals ready to advance their recruitment careers. By considering each candidate’s skills, personality, ambitions, and cultural fit, Jo ensures that those interested in a role at Distinct find mutually beneficial opportunities.
Having previously recruited for our office support division, Jo’s personable approach focuses on providing reassurance and support. She enjoys the variety of interacting with different people every day and makes it a priority to get to know each individual thoroughly. By understanding their motivations and strengths, Jo can identify candidates who will fit well with our company culture.
Jo believes that the smallest detail can set an individual apart and secure them a life-changing opportunity. As an experienced recruiter, she feels it is her duty to uncover that potential.
Just one career highlight to date – two of Jo’s candidates were interviewed for the same position, and the client was so impressed that they created a brand-new role to hire them both.
In her free time, Jo loves going on holidays with her family, walking her black labrador, Bass and dining out. Her passion for travel has taken her to numerous destinations around the globe, including Argentina, Australia, Bali, Bolivia, Brazil, Cambodia, Chile, Fiji, Laos, Malaysia, New Zealand, Paraguay, Peru, Thailand, Uruguay and Vietnam, with many more still to explore.
