This is a CIMA qualified finance professional with close to twenty years of experience working inside large, complex organisations where the detail genuinely matters.
They have spent most of their career in multi billion pound environments across construction materials, consumer retail, financial services and technology. Typically operating close to senior finance leadership, owning significant cost bases, supporting capital investment decisions and acting as the bridge between finance and non finance teams who need things explained clearly, not theatrically.
Most recently, they have been operating as a senior finance analyst within a heavy industrial manufacturing environment, supporting cement plants and terminals across the UK. This includes full ownership of month end reporting, balance sheet analysis, capex business cases, FX forecasting and audit support, as well as oversight of offshore management accounting teams. The work is detailed, regulated and operationally complex, and they are trusted to spot issues early and surface them in a way that leads to action.
Earlier in their career, they spent a significant period in global technology and data businesses, partnering senior leaders across software development, delivery and IT functions with cost bases running into tens of millions. This included responsibility for forecasting, budgeting, long range planning, scenario modelling and commercial challenge across teams of several hundred people spread internationally.
They have also operated in large scale retail and shared service environments, supporting enterprise wide IT spend, major capex programmes and cross divisional transformation projects. In these roles, they were often brought in to simplify reporting, tighten controls and create clearer insight where processes had become fragmented or opaque.
A consistent theme across their career is systems heavy finance. Daily use of SAP, Oracle, Hyperion, TM1, JD Edwards, Business Objects, QlikView and Hubble across different roles. Advanced Excel is not a buzzword here, but a working tool, used to build forecasting models, automate reporting and give operational teams something they can actually use.
They are not a headline chasing finance leader. They are the person senior stakeholders rely on when the numbers need to be right, the story needs to be coherent, and decisions carry real operational consequences. Calm, methodical, and commercially aware, they bring a level of credibility that comes from having seen most problems before and knowing how to work through them.
Best suited to large, complex organisations or divisions within groups where finance underpins decision making, capital investment and operational discipline. Particularly strong in manufacturing, infrastructure, technology and shared service environments where depth, accuracy and trust matter more than theatre.
