Comfortable operating in SME settings, working closely with owners or senior leadership, and taking full ownership of the numbers.
- Full ownership of finance including management accounts, cashflow, VAT, audit, and external relationships
- Experienced in rebuilding finance functions, including reintroducing month-end processes and improving reporting accuracy and cadence
- Strong systems exposure, including Sage X3, with hands-on involvement in implementation, user training, and process improvement
- Proven track record of cleaning up legacy issues, restoring balance sheet integrity, and preparing businesses for audit or transaction activity
- Delivers clear, usable reporting packs with strong balance sheet control and supporting analysis
- Confident managing external stakeholders including auditors, banks, HMRC, and funding providers
- Strong background in multi-site and product-based businesses, including stock, costing, and working capital management
- Leads and supports small teams while remaining close to the detail and day-to-day delivery
