A long-established and forward-thinking accountancy practice is looking to appoint an Audit Supervisor to join its audit and assurance team. The firm has a strong reputation for supporting mid-market and SME clients, while also delivering specialist audits across regulated and not-for-profit sectors.
This role would suit someone part-qualified or newly qualified looking to step into a supervisory position with exposure to a wide range of clients and strong support toward continued development and progression.
The Opportunity
This is an audit-focused role, offering the chance to supervise audits under the guidance of a Manager or Principal, while building both technical and leadership skills.
Core responsibilities include:

Leading audits under the guidance of a Manager or Principal

Managing on-site audit teams and supporting junior staff
-
Assisting in audit planning, completion procedures, and preparation of management letters
-
Reviewing working papers and ensuring audit files meet compliance standards

Supporting the development and supervision of junior trainees
-
Undertaking delegated tasks from Audit Managers to support workflow and client deadlines

Larger group structures and entities with overseas subsidiaries

UK arms of global companies

Regulated and specialist audits including:

Pension schemes

Charities and not-for-profit organisations

Solicitors (SRA audits)

FCA regulated entities

The Ideal Candidate
The firm is seeking someone who can grow into a trusted member of the audit team. The ideal candidate will have:

ACA or ACCA part-qualified or newly qualified status (with at least 2 years’ audit experience in a UK firm)

Strong communication skills, both written and verbal

Ability to take initiative, multitask, and adapt to changing deadlines
-
IT literacy and experience with accounting/audit software

A team player approach, with a willingness to support others’ development
The Package

Salary: Dependent on experience

Hours: Full-time, Monday to Friday (hybrid working model)

Annual Leave: 25 days + bank holidays (including 3 days at Christmas)
