We’re a market-leading agency based in the East Midlands with an ever-growing presence in London and the USA.
Over the pond, we’re making quite the name for ourselves and proudly opened our Boston office in early 2024. However, none of this growth would be possible without our people. They truly are the heart of our business. Consequently, investing in talented individuals is vital to our continued growth.
Supporting people to thrive
At Distinct, our ethos doesn’t just apply to our customers. Internally, we invest in regular, high-quality training for our staff to support their career growth. Creating an environment where our employees can thrive and enjoy coming to work every day has always been our top priority. Due to our strong culture of development and retention, people rarely want to leave. We’re proud to say that everyone who was with us on day one is still here today.
Some of our most recent hires have also been our most successful. Experienced recruiters with high annual billings, established desks and unmatched networks.
So, why did they make the move to join us?
Autonomy
Our recruiters have autonomy over their roles. We don’t believe in micro-management and if you have an idea, we promise to listen
Progression
We offer a clear and transparent career path that provides progression opportunities for those who want to become a manager, as well as those who simply want to continue being top billers
International opportunities
Our USA recruitment package includes travel to Boston or New York up to three times a year as well as a four day working week. We also offer the option to relocate, or you can work from the comfort of our UK offices in Nottingham or London
About you
We have a high standard for ourselves, which begins with having the right attitude. Our internal values are more than words on office walls and we expect all of our employees to be an exemplar of them.
Individuals who match our ambition
As an experienced recruiter, you’ll already have the knowledge and confidence to truly own your billing desk, create opportunities, and build relationships with new and existing clients.
We’re a friendly bunch who don’t take ourselves too seriously. But we also want to work with individuals who match our ambition. If you’re looking to grow and succeed with a business that rarely stands still, you’ll fit in well here.
Hear from our senior team
Rochea-Cleo Ashanti | Senior Talent Acquisition Consultant, UK | Eight years experience
“I had worked in recruitment for five years at a well-known agency and knew it was time for a change. I felt like the incentives and KPIs weren’t achievable and I was heavily micromanaged. I looked at Distinct’s social media channels and thought they came across as an agency that wants to do well but also wants their staff to be happy. Ultimately I joined because of a combination of everything they offered, including the perks, office environment and flexibility.” -
Louise Carling | Talent Acquisition Partner, UK | 19 years experience
“Prior to joining Distinct, I had been in recruitment for 14 years and was returning to work following maternity leave. I’ve often said that Distinct really is the best because you have the autonomy and freedom to deliver. The trust I’ve been given despite the natural ups and downs in recruitment has been stand-out.”
Henry Clarkson | Talent Acquisition Partner, UK | 13 years experience
“I’ve previously worked for four different agencies, ranging from a small privately-owned company to an international billion-turnover business. Distinct is well known in the market and I always heard positive feedback from candidates and clients about them. Coupled with their Nottingham HQ, sustainability focus and career progression prospects, it was a no-brainer. I would advise anyone in the industry who is curious about Distinct to reach out and have a chat. You’ll find out everything you need to know just by meeting the people here.”
Imogen Talbot-Slack | Talent Acquisition Partner, USA | Six years experience
“I worked in payroll admin before pivoting into recruitment. I was looking for a change in culture where growth would be encouraged and employers would have my best interests at heart. Six years in, I’ve had countless highs with Distinct. From hitting incentive trips and going to Val D'isere, Hvar and Las Vegas to winning the CEO-choice award, which is something I’m still very proud of!”
Rebecca Sherman | Talent Acquisition Partner, USA | Five years experience
“I had experience at both a global and boutique agency, neither of which felt right for me. Since making the move to Distinct in 2021, I’ve been given the right tools and support from my wonderful manager, I started to do well and hit two promotions within 12 months. Recruitment can be hard. So it’s important to choose a company in which you will be not only supported and rewarded, but that will let you put your life and family ahead of the job every now and again. Distinct will do that.”

Tell me more about your USA recruitment offering.
If you fancy a new challenge with high-reward potential, our USA recruitment division could be right for you. In return for working slightly anti-social hours (1pm – 10.30pm on two days), you can arrange the remaining 20.5 working hours yourself within the core hours of 1-6pm, with many of our team opting to have Friday’s off. You’ll also be able to visit customers in person up to three times a year.
We operate in finance, public accounting and legal sectors, taking these markets on state-by-state. Some of our USA consultants are top billers in the business, it hasn’t been easy and we’ve learned a lot along the way. However, this market is a huge area of focus for us and offers great commission and progression opportunities too.
If you’re interested in joining our USA team, please include this in your enquiry.
