At Distinct, we’ve always believed that growth isn’t just about increasing headcount or adding dots to a map. It’s not a vanity project. It’s about following our instinct and staying true to our values.
Today, we are thrilled to announce a major milestone in our story with the opening of our Leeds office, centrally located on New Station Street.
This new office marks our third UK location, joining our Nottingham HQ and our London King’s Cross office. This expansion is a key milestone in our long-term growth strategy, further stabilising our UK presence, whilst continuing to scale our operations across North America.
Building on a solid foundation
Since our humble beginnings in the East Midlands, we’ve strategically grown both across a variety of industries and geographic locations. Whilst our expansion into the US market continues to go from strength to strength, we have never lost sight of where it all began. The UK remains the heartbeat of our business and as the market continues to evolve, we see a massive opportunity to bring our people-first approach further north.
Culture first, expansion second
Many may ask; why now? Especially in a market that is often considered challenging.
For us, the answer is simple: people. We’ve always said that Distinct is built on culture, not just KPIs. Recently, we’ve made some fantastic senior hires into our UK team, people who truly share our core value of Do The Right Thing. These individuals haven’t just added capacity, they’ve given us the confidence and local expertise to press forward into new locations.
Our CEO, James Calder, sums this up perfectly:
“Every decision we make is done with our people in mind. Our expansion into Leeds is a testament to the incredible team we’ve built, it’s their hard work and alignment with our culture that allows us to grow even in a challenging market. While our international reach continues to grow, the UK is where our journey started and expanding our footprint here is vital to our long-term strategy.”
Opening in Leeds isn’t just about a new postcode, it’s about being closer to our northern clients and candidates, offering them the same empathetic, consultative service that has been at the core of Distinct since 2016.
