About Mondottica

The Mondottica Group has been expertly making beautifully branded eyewear for over 20 years in collaboration with their brand partners. What started out as a single licence dream has grown into a global company. They now design and distribute products under licence to customers all over the world. Mondottica’s design and brand team office is based in London and their delivery centre, logistics and supply planning office are based in Nottingham, along with their finance and customer services teams.

The recruitment brief

As part of our strategy for growth, we needed to hire a new CFO. This role, reporting to the CEO is responsible for group financial accounts and also the leadership of the Nottingham team. We needed someone who would fit in with the size of our business, understand the complexity of our global operations, lead and develop the multi-disciplinary team in our Nottingham office and develop a culture of excellence for growth – a true modern day CFO!

Choosing an agency

Our business has partnered with Distinct for a number of years to fill a wide range of operational roles, both junior and more senior managers across finance and customer services. We’d never worked with Distinct on such a senior profile. However, after meeting with Alex, we saw the way that he really listened to our needs and took time to understand the business and the role. This is what made us feel highly confident of Distinct’s ability to deliver.

Recruitment challenges

Campaign outcome

The openness and transparency of communication was fantastic. I was kept updated as agreed, Alex preempted future conversations and anticipated questions and next steps. It was a real partnership approach to finding the right person and the focus on partnership is core to us at Mondottica. Our new CFO has settled in brilliantly, built positive relationships with the team and is already driving strategy for change.
