Jamie studied Sports Business at Liverpool John Moores University before beginning his career in recruitment. Drawn to its pace, variety and people focus, he started in practice recruitment in the UK before briefly exploring education recruitment.
Eager to return to the accounting sector, Jamie joined Distinct to work with CPA firms and accounting professionals across Ontario, Canada. He was attracted by the opportunity to recruit in the U.S. market and Distinct’s collaborative, people-first approach – values he shares. Today, he helps audit and tax professionals find CPA firms where they can truly thrive.
Jamie believes the key to successful recruitment is clear, consistent communication. He keeps clients and candidates informed at every stage, ensuring transparency and a collaborative experience.
He takes pride in introducing candidates to firms they may not have encountered, often small to mid-sized CPA firms with strong cultures, flexibility and genuine growth opportunities. Jamie focuses on uncovering the right fit that others might overlook, helping both sides make informed, confident decisions.
Above all, he enjoys connecting with people – whether helping a firm hire the right candidate or supporting a professional in securing a role they’re excited about.
Recruitment for Jamie is about growth – for himself and those he works with. Curious and collaborative, he learns from every interaction, ensuring he adds insight and builds trust. Jamie values teamwork, sharing ideas and supporting colleagues and clients alike, making every experience constructive and rewarding.
Away from recruitment, Jamie is a dedicated Nottingham Forest supporter, holding a season ticket for over 13 years. He enjoys socializing with friends and is currently challenging himself to learn Spanish.
