Josef studied Law with Business at Nottingham Trent University, becoming the first in his family to attend university. While he originally planned on a career in law, he soon found his strengths lay in sales and client relationships. Early roles selling legal services and later working as a Commercial Real Estate broker sharpened his commercial instincts and gave him first-hand insight into the legal sector.
Drawn to the challenge and opportunity of recruitment, Josef combined his legal knowledge with his sales expertise to build a career at Distinct. Today, he works with associate attorneys and partners across Georgia, helping them make informed, confident career moves.
Josef starts by giving candidates a clear, broad picture of the market, then helps narrow the focus to the firms and practice areas that align with their ambitions. He places transparency and communication at the center of every process, ensuring there are no surprises, only straightforward guidance.
His law degree, combined with years of working closely with attorneys, has given him a strong understanding of different practice areas. This perspective allows him to spot opportunities candidates might otherwise miss. For Josef, recruitment isn’t about quick introductions; it’s about making the process smoother and more rewarding for both lawyers and firms.
For Josef, recruitment is about more than filling roles; it’s about championing people. He makes sure candidates feel supported and properly represented throughout the process. In one example, he placed an attorney in a firm with the right infrastructure for growth and even negotiated a guaranteed bonus – despite a mid-year start – so they could step into the role with confidence.
That kind of advocacy is central to how Josef works: balancing ambition with long-term fit.
Away from recruiting, Josef’s usually out exploring new cities, playing football or catching a DJ set. A keen traveller with family in California, he values trips that let him reconnect with loved ones while discovering new places.
