With a bachelor’s in sociology from the University of Nottingham, Rebecca entered the recruitment industry, inspired by her brother’s positive experience. In search of a workplace with a culture that matched her values, she found Distinct to be the perfect fit after working for competitors who often envied its culture.
With a background spanning public sector/non-profit and for-profit finance recruitment, Rebecca found her niche in Distinct’s Public Accounting team. Originally joining forces with Arran Jaiswal, she has been instrumental in the team’s success and continues to specialize in recruiting CPA professionals across Massachusetts, Rhode Island and New Hampshire. Rebecca, alongside Imogen Slack-Talbot, is set to lead Distinct’s Boston office, marking a new and exciting chapter in her career.
Rebecca uniquely merges technical proficiency with a people-centric ethos. Her passion lies in swiftly gauging the compatibility between candidates and CPA firms – often within just two minutes. Renowned for her deep connections, candidates often say, “Rebecca, I speak to you more than I speak to my partner.”
Rebecca’s dedication goes beyond placements, rejecting the industry’s ‘fire and see’ approach. With in-depth market knowledge, she navigates growth trends, training quality, work-life balance and promotion dynamics to secure the best offers. A standout moment in her career involved delivering an emotionally impactful offer to a deserving candidate who initially lacked confidence. Underscoring Rebecca’s primary motivation in recruitment – facilitating life-changing opportunities.
Rebecca is unwaveringly committed to diversity and inclusion, a passion that has deepened during her years in recruitment within the finance and accounting industry. Having immersed herself in the public accounting sector, she is inspired by firms challenging stereotypes and recognizing the need for change in order to retain top talent. Rebecca firmly believes in rewarding hard work and advocates for a work environment that values personal lives alongside professional success. Her dedication lies in supporting candidates to find firms that prioritize a healthy work-life balance and foster inclusivity.
Rebecca embraces her passion for music, immersing herself in festivals and live performances spanning various genres, with a particular love for country and musical theater. A dedicated sports enthusiast, she follows hockey and UFC, relishing the opportunity to attend baseball games during work trips to Boston – go, Red Sox!
