Workers’ Compensation Associate

$110k-$140k+, dependant on experience

The Workers’ Compensation Associate will play a key role in providing expert legal counsel, negotiating settlements, conducting depositions, and representing employers and insurance carriers in complex workers’ compensation cases. This position presents an exceptional opportunity for attorneys with a background in workers’ compensation law to further develop their expertise, take on significant and challenging defense litigation responsibilities, and advance their careers. In addition to workers’ compensation matters, the role offers the chance to gain exposure to general liability cases, broadening professional experience and skillset.
Responsibilities:
- Independently manage a litigation caseload, working cases from beginning to end
- Work closely with other attorneys and partners on legal projects
- Regularly handle court appearances and depositions
- Communicate with clients and provide status reports
Qualifications:
- JD from an accredited law school
- Admitted to practice law in New York
- Strong understanding of New York’s Workers Compensation insurance law
- 1+ years of workers’ compensation experience
- General liability experience a plus
- Ability to integrate into a fast-team-oriented oriented environment
- Legal project management experience is helpful
