Senior Accountant | St Catharines | 80,000 to 100,000
Sometimes the best career moves are the quiet ones.
Not the dramatic jump to a huge firm. Just moving somewhere where the work is interesting, the people are decent, and you feel like your career is actually moving forward.
This CPA firm in St Catharines has been growing steadily and is now looking to add a Senior Accountant to the team.
It is a proper all round role. Audits, tax work, compilations and financial statements across a varied group of clients. Owner managed businesses, different industries, and enough variety to keep the work engaging.
Being a smaller firm has its advantages as well. You get closer exposure to clients and Partners, and the work you do is visible.
That tends to speed up careers.
Some people here will aim for Manager and eventually Partner. Others will simply enjoy being a strong Senior working with good clients. The firm is relaxed about that. They understand that not everyone wants the same path.
They will want someone who already understands public accounting though. Ideally two or more years working in a CPA firm, with experience across things like T1s, T2s and financial statements.
If you are currently in a firm and wondering whether there might be a better long term home out there, it could be worth a conversation.
Feel free to reach out to Ryan Jaiswal at Distinct Recruitment to discuss any questions.
Ryan Jaiswal is a Recruiter for Distinct Recruitment. He is an ex Accountant who is a little better at recruiting than he was at doing T1s or reviewing financial statements. He has handled Public Accounting recruitment across Canada for many years and spends most of his time speaking with CPA firms and accountants about how their careers are really going. Outside of work he is a dad of young twins who keep him busy. So if you want to talk to a recruiter who understands the need for flexibility or work life balance, he will certainly get it.
You can call Ryan directly on +1 647 503 2624.
The apply button is there if you want it. But pressing it is not a marriage proposal. If you are just curious, we can have a chat first.
