They are leaving due to relocating out of state, not because they wanted to leave for another Public Accounting Firm.
Working at this firm you will feel a part of the team, not just a number. A firm of this size, with 50 staff, you’ll have a lot more exposure to the approachable Partners, and you’ll have a lot less corporate competition for senior roles.
Despite recent growth, they have maintained the small firm vibe but aren’t a mom + pop when it comes to opportunity. They have a mentoring program, and several training platforms, and they are a part of the BDO Alliance which they leverage for quality training.
They have seen a lot of attraction from individuals from slightly bigger firm who are looking to reduce their billable hours but don’t want to compromise on their growth prospects. You’ll be looking at 55 hours at the peak on a hybrid basis. As long as you are committed to getting the work done, they will be flexible around your schedule.
The Audit team here makes up half of the firm’s revenue. They have a wide client base across multiple industries, but you will be working predominately with Not-for-profit clients, not including governmental.
As a manager you’ll be working closely with a leadership team made up of people in their 30s and 40s due to several Partner retirements, they have fresh ideas and always want to push forward with a focus on strategic planning.
You’ll have a background with a specialty in Not for Profit within Audits. You don’t need to have your CPA but if you’re looking for progression, getting your CPA will be on the agenda.
