Audit Senior
Most audit roles are predictable.
Tick. Tie. Move on.
This one isn’t.
This is for someone who wants to actually run work, build client relationships, and be trusted to make decisions, not just follow a checklist.
You’ll be stepping into a firm that’s been around for 70+ years, not by accident, but because they do things properly. Good clients. Good people. No drama.
The role
You’ll be the in-charge on engagements. Not shadowing. Not assisting. Running them.
That means:
• Planning audits and actually thinking through risk, not just following last year’s file
• Leading fieldwork and keeping everything moving without chaos
• Owning client conversations with Controllers and CFOs
• Preparing financial statements and making sure the work stands up
• Spotting issues early and briefing Managers and Partners properly
• Coaching juniors so they improve, not just survive busy season
You’ll also get exposure to more complex areas and new standards, with the expectation that you can understand them and explain them clearly to the team.
This isn’t a sit quietly and grind role.
It’s a step up into proper responsibility.
The setup
Hybrid, but done properly.
Busy season you’re typically on-site 3–4 days a week, with 1–2 days from home. Outside of that, there’s more flexibility.
There’s local travel most days, with around 10–20% out-of-town.
Why this is worth your time
• Clear path to Manager. Not “maybe one day”, actually visible
• Partners who care about quality, not politics
• A team that supports each other instead of competing internally
• Real development, including mentorship and business development exposure
• Benefits that actually mean something, including healthcare, 401k, CPA bonus, and more
What they’re looking for
• 3–6 years in public accounting audit
• CPA or working towards it
• Someone who has already acted as an in-charge or is ready to
• Comfortable dealing with clients directly
• Communicates well and can guide junior staff
You’ll need to be based in Florida and able to commute into Tampa, Bradenton, or Sarasota.
And here’s the bit most people overthink.
You don’t need to tick every box.
If you’ve been doing the work but not getting the opportunity to actually lead…
This is where that changes.
