Experienced Tax Associate
Location: Hybrid, Wheat Ridge
Compensation: Around $85K–$105K DOE
Work Schedule: Hybrid, 1–2 days in-office during busy season, fully remote in summer
Why this role
Stop scrolling for a second. Imagine a tax role where you can actually grow, and a firm that genuinely has space for you to move up.
You’ll join a mid-sized CPA firm that values balance as much as ambition. You’ll get exposure to both small business owners and high-net-worth individuals, learning from experienced people who want to see you progress. And with several senior team members planning retirement in the next few years, those opportunities to rise are real, not just a line in a job spec.
What it looks like day to day
It’s a place where you can build your path to Senior and beyond without sacrificing your evenings. Busy season means just 1–2 days a week in the office, and once summer rolls around, you can work fully remotely. They pay overtime, invest in your growth, and make sure you’ve got the breathing room to actually enjoy the work you do.
Where this could lead
Within 1–2 years, you could be stepping into a Senior role, and from there, the path keeps going as the firm evolves and succession plans kick in. Or simply enjoy becoming brilliant at your craft with space to breathe along the way.
Culture
Supportive. Balanced. Human. They even reimburse gym memberships and mental health counselling, because they know you have a life outside tax.
Who thrives here
Curious, ambitious people who want to progress, without being crushed by hours. If you like variety, mentoring, and being trusted to get the job done, you’ll fit right in.
How to apply
Not ready with a resume? Or want a bit more information before applying? That’s fine. Apply the old-fashioned way, or simply reach out to me on LinkedIn or through the Distinct Recruitment website. I’ll happily talk you through the role, the firm, and where it could take you before you make any commitments.
I’m Abigail Stephen, Recruiter at Distinct. I don’t just look at job specs; I look at people, and where they’ll thrive. It’s not about filling gaps. It’s about finding a fit that lasts.
Outside of work, balance for me is Pilates to reset, travel to explore, and skiing to recharge. Because the truth is, you don’t slog through hours for the love of a spreadsheet. You do it for the freedom it buys you. Same principle here.
