Partner | Independent CPA Firm
Rockwall, TX
Compensation negotiable, with equity potential for the right person
Not every Partner move is really a Partner move.
Sometimes it is just a bigger title, more clients, more pressure, and the same lack of say over how the firm is actually run.
We are working with a long established independent CPA firm on the eastern side of DFW, near Rockwall, that is looking to bring in a Partner level hire to help lead the next stage of the business. The firm has been serving the local market since the 1980’s and provides tax, accounting, and business consulting support to individuals, business owners, and independent professionals. It is a small, established practice with deep roots in the local community and a genuinely personal approach to client service.
This is not about parachuting someone in to do a bit more reviewing.
It is about bringing in an experienced public accounting leader who can take ownership of client relationships, help guide the team, and play a meaningful part in shaping the future of the firm alongside existing leadership. The firm is led by a President and Shareholder who has been with the business over 25 years, which points to a steady, long term leadership structure rather than a revolving door environment.
Why this role stands out
There comes a point where good senior people stop looking for just another job.
They start looking for somewhere they can actually matter.
Somewhere they can build trusted client relationships, have a proper voice in decisions, mentor a team, and help shape the future of a firm that still feels human.
That is the appeal here.
This is a genuine Partner level opportunity within an independent firm that has built its reputation over decades, serves a loyal local client base, and still believes in personal service over churn. The firm describes itself as full service, discreet, experienced, and focused on one to one guidance for clients.
What you will be doing
You will take a leading role across client service, technical oversight, and leadership within the practice.
That is likely to include:
Managing and reviewing complex tax work for individuals and privately owned businesses
Overseeing accounting and advisory relationships for a broad local client base
Acting as a trusted adviser to business owners who value judgement, not just compliance
Supporting and developing staff within a smaller firm environment
Working closely with the existing leadership on standards, workflow, succession, and growth
Helping shape the direction of the firm over the coming years
Who this suits
This role is likely to suit a CPA already operating at Senior Manager, Director, or Partner level within public accounting who wants a role with real influence and long term substance.
You will probably bring:
Strong public accounting experience
A track record of leading client relationships and delivering high quality work across tax and accounting
The credibility to mentor others and help guide a team
Commercial judgement and the confidence to advise business owners
A genuine interest in helping shape a firm, not just manage a book of work
For the right person, this is a chance to join a respected local firm where partnership still means something. Not politics. Not noise. A real seat at the table.
