Senior Tax Accountant | $80,000 – $110,000 | Davis, CA
Most job ads for tax accountants look the same: returns, deadlines, busy season, repeat. But the real difference between firms isn’t the tax code, it’s the environment you’re in while working through it. And that’s where this Davis-based practice stands apart.
This is a small, established firm with long-term clients and a workload that’s steady but not punishing. You’ll work across a diverse mix of individuals, fiduciaries, corporations, and plenty of pass-through entities. Real estate makes up a big share of the work, but you’ll also handle professional services, biomedical research, IT companies, high-net-worth individuals, and even the occasional winery.
Why you might like it here:
- Busy season hours are around 50 hours, busy, but not burnout
- A collaborative, practical culture with no unnecessary pressure
- Direct access to mentorship and the chance to grow into a long-term role
- Interesting client base that keeps the work varied
What they’re looking for:
- 5+ years of tax experience in public accounting
- Strong background in individuals, partnerships, and S corps (real estate a big plus)
- CPA or actively pursuing CPA preferred
- Comfortable in Lacerte or quick to learn
- Someone eager to grow, collaborate, and stick around for the long haul
This isn’t a remote role, most of the work is in-office for collaboration and security reasons. That said, there’s flexibility when needed.
If you’re tired of being a cog in a machine and want a place where your impact is visible every day, this could be a great fit.
