Senior Tax Accountant

You would be joining a 25 person, pure tax CPA firm in Tampa. No audit. No corporate layers. No disappearing partners. Just solid tax work, accessible leadership, and a team that actually sticks around.
Turnover here is extremely low for a reason.
The role offers a clear and balanced workload. Roughly sixty percent preparation and forty percent review across individuals, S corps, partnerships, trusts, estates, and the occasional 990. Client sizes typically run up to around five million in revenue, which keeps the work interesting without unnecessary complexity.
You will work closely with managers and partners who are present, approachable, and invested in developing their people. You are trusted to own your work, ask questions when needed, and support junior staff in a genuinely collaborative environment.
Busy season expectations are sensible. Long days happen, but this is not a firm that glorifies burnout or chaos. Outside of peak periods, hours normalize and flexibility is respected.
The role is in office initially to support learning and development. After the first year, most of the team works from home two to three days per week. Start and finish times flex around life rather than the other way around.
One of the biggest reasons people stay is clarity about the future.
There is a genuine path to shareholder and every current shareholder has grown internally. Two partners plan to retire within the next five years, with further succession following. This is discussed openly, not quietly avoided.
This role suits someone with around five to six years of public accounting experience who is comfortable with both preparation and review work. Progress toward the CPA is preferred, with the expectation that you are moving forward, not standing still. Being collaborative, steady, and proud of producing clean work matters more than ticking every box.
