This is close-knit team of 10 professionals based in Charlottesville, VA, and they’re looking for a senior-level tax professional to step into a key role.
Enjoy a flexible, balanced schedule with half-day Fridays in the off season, up to 50 hours during busy season, hybrid work (2 days in office) or fully remote if needed, plus 3 weeks’ vacation, full benefits, and a collaborative, no-micromanagement culture where you’ll have real decision-making power and direct access to leadership.
Half of our clients are individuals—many HNW, with rental properties or simple 1040s—and the other half are small local businesses: farms, doctors, and law practices. They’ve grown steadily without sacrificing the team-first culture or their commitment to work-life balance. Turnover is rare. Micromanagement doesn’t exist here. And collaboration is how they operate.
This is a senior level role, sitting above manager level. You’ll focus on complex tax planning and review for small businesses, with the authority to make decisions—not just review returns.
You will:
- Lead complex tax work and planning
- Review-heavy position across a variety of returns
- 1041 trust and estate experience is a plus
- Significant autonomy, no red tape
- Opportunity to influence processes and help shape the firm’s next chapter
Looking For:
- CPA
- Strong review experience
- 7+ years in public accounting
- Experience with high-net-worth individuals and small businesses
- Based in or near Charlottesville preferred, but open to remote for the right person
- Lacerte software experience is a plus, but not a necessity
