Tax Manager
Not every move needs to be a huge leap. Sometimes it’s about finding the right team, the right leadership, and the right environment to do your best work. This growing firm is looking for a Tax Manager to join their close-knit team of 16 people.
The owner has been very hands-on up to this point, but as the firm continues to grow, he’s ready to step back from the day-to-day and focus more on high-level leadership. This is a key role in that transition, they’re looking for someone experienced who can take ownership of the tax team, bring a strategic mindset, and help continue building and developing the staff.
You’ll be working with high-profile clients across real estate, professional services, healthcare, financial services, creatives, and high-net-worth individuals. Alongside tax, the firm also offers fractional CFO and back-office services to a range of industries, so there’s strong variety across the client base. Right now, the owner still gets involved in about 20% of client planning and technical review, the goal is for you, as the technical Tax Manager, to bridge that gap and take full ownership.
They pride themselves on a coaching-led, high-trust culture, where flexibility and strong communication go hand in hand.
They’re targeting a busy season that tops out around 50–55 hours per week and offer a hybrid schedule (three days in the office, two remote). There’s additional flexibility over the summer, with summer Fridays or four-day workweeks when team goals are met. They believe in rewarding results, not just time in a chair.
The right person will be a CPA (or EA) with a strong tax background, ideally with some financial accounting knowledge and QuickBooks experience. Just as important, they’re looking for someone who enjoys developing others — not just managing work, but helping the team become stronger, more well-rounded accountants. It’s a hands-on role, but with a clear path to growing into a bigger leadership position as the firm evolves. Salary is up to $150K plus bonus.

Not Sure You Meet All the Qualifications? We still encourage you to apply if you have public accounting experience! If you don’t meet every requirement, don’t let that stop you. The firm is dedicated to fostering a diverse, inclusive, and equitable workplace, and we are always looking for talent with a range of experiences. If this role isn’t the perfect fit, we may have other opportunities in public accounting that are a better match.
