If you’re coming from a large firm, then this may be a little shock to the system..in the best way.
Culture-wise, there is a fun, causal feel to this firm. You will be surrounded by great people with strong technical experience. You will be in a pretty relaxed atmosphere and you’ll be treated like an adult.
You will have pretty sophisticated tech for a firm this size, so you’ll be set up with all the tools you need for success.
The Partners truly cares about their staff and their opinions and have put things in place so they can regularly find out what everyone wants and needs, which means you’ll get a say in the environment you work in.
They know you have to put more work in over busy season, so you will be rewarded for this with bonuses , and you won’t be working more than 55 hours.
If you see ownership in your future then that is definitely on the cards here, with a clear path to this if you choose.
Everyone in the office works differently, so if a hybrid model is what you want, then that’s how it will be. They’d like you to do 3 of days in the office, but how that works is flexible.
You will have sight of every aspect of your clients and you will be expected to become a true advisor and take care of them and build genuine client relationships. Your client base will be mostly closely held businesses and their owners. You’ll be doing mostly reviewing tax returns but you’ll have exposure to FS reviews and compilations if you want, as well as tax planning and consulting.
You will have the opportunity to get involved in some interesting technical stuff too like mergers and business sales.
