Tax Manager
There is a big difference between a firm that talks about stability and one that has actually lived through the hard parts.
This firm has.
When the Cape Coral real estate market collapsed in 2008 and a large part of their client base disappeared almost overnight, they did not panic. They did not cut people loose or quietly manage exits. Everyone was paid. The firm tightened up, adapted, rebuilt, and kept going.
That tells you almost everything you need to know.
The practice has been growing steadily since 1977. Today it is a small, sharp, long established tax firm with a loyal client base, a waterfront office, and something many firms promise but few truly have. A real succession plan.
They are now looking to bring in a Tax Manager who wants to play a meaningful role in shaping the next chapter of the firm, not just step into a seat and pass through.
This is not about empire building. It is about legacy.
The partners want someone who enjoys working directly with business owners, values long term relationships, and sees leadership as something you grow into through trust and contribution. This is the kind of firm where clients know your name, where your judgement matters, and where your work is visible.
What the work looks like
The portfolio is varied and genuinely interesting. Around sixty percent of the work is small business tax, including owner operated S corporations, partnerships, professional services, construction businesses, and even work connected to a professional sports organisation.
The remaining forty percent covers individuals, trusts, and estates. None of it is cookie cutter.
Business clients range from smaller but sophisticated operations through to organisations generating up to around sixty million in revenue. There are no certified audits. The focus is tax planning, compliance, strategy, and government work when needed.
You will be hands on and client facing. Trusted by the partners. Known by the clients. Relied on for judgement rather than hidden behind layers of review.
This is the opposite of being one of many managers in a large department where no one really knows what you do.
The environment and expectations
The team is small and close knit. Six accountants supported by admin staff, with additional remote and satellite support in New Jersey and Fort Myers.
The role is full time onsite. Not because of control, but because this is a high interaction, relationship driven practice serving business owners who value access and continuity. They are clear on one thing. This needs to be a Cape Coral commute. Naples will not work.
Who this could suit
An experienced Tax Manager ready for more influence and visibility
An ambitious Senior or Supervisor who wants a genuine runway into leadership
Someone technically strong, approachable, and committed to growing with a firm rather than moving on quickly
Titles matter far less here than attitude, judgement, and intent.
In a market full of noise, churn, and big promises, this is one of the rare firms that has already proven it can weather storms, look after its people, and build something that lasts.
You will matter here.
Your ideas will be heard.
Your relationships will be real.
And while the view from the office might not change your life, the role itself just might.

Applying for a job is not a marriage proposal.
It is simply a conversation.
If it feels right, great.
If it does not, you will still walk away with more clarity about what you want next.
