Tax Manager
Dallas, TX
CPA required
Most Tax Manager roles promise autonomy, influence, and interesting work. In reality, many still feel like an extension of Senior life with more pressure and little change in how you actually spend your day.
This one is different.
This is a Tax Manager role within a well established CPA and Wealth Advisory firm in Dallas. The firm works closely with successful individuals, families, and closely held businesses, combining tax, accounting, and wealth planning under one roof. The culture is professional, calm, and relationship driven. People stay because the work is good and the environment is sustainable.
You are trusted here. You are not micromanaged. And you are expected to operate as a true advisor.
What this role is really about
You will take ownership of a portfolio of clients and act as their primary tax contact. That means reviewing and signing complex returns, leading planning conversations, and working alongside wealth advisors to deliver joined up advice. This is not a volume driven prep role. Your value is in judgement, experience, and client trust.
You will also play a key role in mentoring seniors and staff, reviewing work, and setting the tone for quality across the tax team. Partners are accessible and collaborative, not distant or political.
What you will be doing
Managing and reviewing complex federal and state tax returns for individuals, trusts, partnerships, and closely held businesses
Leading tax planning and advisory projects throughout the year
Acting as a trusted point of contact for high quality, long term clients
Reviewing and developing the work of Seniors and Staff
Working closely with Partners and Wealth Advisors on client strategy
What they are looking for
Active CPA license is required
Strong background in public accounting tax
Experience reviewing complex returns and advising clients directly
Someone who enjoys responsibility, client relationships, and doing things properly
Why this is worth your time
A genuine Tax Manager role with autonomy and trust
High quality clients and interesting planning work
Collaboration with Wealth Advisors rather than siloed compliance
A stable, people focused firm where careers are built long term
Dallas based, with a sensible and grown up approach to work and balance
If you are a CPA Tax Manager in Dallas who wants a role that feels like a step forward rather than just more of the same, this is one worth a conversation.
Happy to talk it through quietly and give you proper context before you decide if it is right for you.
