It’s a perfect time to make the move back to Public. Yes, it’s busy season, but Firms will be more likely to hire you, if you’re coming out of the IRS vs working for another Public Accounting firm.
The fact that you’ve worked on both sides of the fence will set you apart.
And don’t worry – even if you’ve been with the IRS for a few years, the transition back to public accounting is smoother than you might think. Many people like you have boomeranged back to Public.
We’re supporting a mid-sized CPA firm, with offices in across Illinois. They’re looking for a generalist or industry specialist (Real Estate or Manufacturing+ Distribution or PE) Tax Manager and are interested in those wanting out of the IRS.
