Consider leaving your 70/80 hour busy seasons behind.
This CPA firm have a 40 – 45 hour busy season. Yes it would be a good bait line to use and get your attention, but I asked how they did it.
They would rather have more personnel than over load one person with work, which is why they’re always looking to hire into the team and make sure their work force is growing rather than their work load. You’ll be working for a firm that recognises that if you over load someone with work, the quality won’t be great and it’s not manageable.
You don’t get rewarded for working crazy hours, which is a common trait of a typical CPA firm. There is leadership from the top who don’t promote an intense work culture and you don’t get praised on inputting hours.
Actually, it’s the opposite. Someone could get into trouble for pulling a 60 hour week as much as they would for pulling a 30 hour work week. This firm isn’t looking for either of those.
Partners and senior managers of the firm are tasked to ensure that people don’t have to work extreme hours. They budget time beforehand and map out the staffing to sure it’s evenly distributed, so there is no need for anyone in their firm to work more than 50 hours during busy season.
This is a national CPA firm with offices across the country, all of those are modern. They’re a growing top 200 firm with a large diverse background of people. The team operates in office, with flexibility on Fridays and during the off season. This will be either in their office in Brooklyn NY or New Jersey. Industry experience of real estate or healthcare is preferred but not essential.
