How we work with you

It all starts with a conversation – completely confidential and pressure-free. We’ll discuss your current situation and reasons for seeking a new opportunity. This includes your experience, skills, and long-term career goals.

Resume advice and outreach

Next, we'll review your resume and discuss potential openings at our partner firms; detailing their billable hours, culture, flexibility and benefits package. With your approval, we'll then forward your resume to those firms.

The interview stage

We'll advise you on pre-interview research to help you prepare. You'll also receive key information about the firm, your interviewers and the process. After the interviews, we'll share any feedback we receive.

Offer management

Based on the information you've provided and are happy for us to share, we'll reiterate your needs with the firm to ensure their offer aligns accordingly. We will never pressure you to accept a role that isn't a good fit.

After placement care

We'll stay in touch to ensure all is going smoothly. Once you start your new role, we'll schedule catch-up calls with you from your first week, up to your first few months to see how you're settling in.

We specialize in the following legal practice areas:

Benefits of working with Distinct

Whether you’re seeking greater flexibility, a higher salary or a fresh challenge, we’ll find the ideal opportunity to support your goals.

For associates aiming to advance, we identify roles with diverse experiences; for senior attorneys with high billable targets, we offer lucrative alternatives to the traditional partner track. Throughout the process, we help craft compelling narratives and provide guidance at each step. And rest assured, we’ll only share your resume with firms actively hiring and of genuine interest to you.

What attorneys say about working with us

James is the quintessential professional! Consistently followed up, and truly wanted me to have the best possible position. He provided end to end support for the entire job search. He even followed up a few weeks later. I highly recommend James, 10/10!
I had the pleasure of working with Zach over the last couple of months. He was extremely attentive and responsive. He listened to my wish list to help me find the perfect placement. I would highly recommend Zach if you are looking for a new opportunity!
Harry listened to my needs and even juggled multiple roles for me in case one firm was not a good match. In the end, I have found a firm that checks most of the boxes, and I have Harry to thank.
